President’s Message

Durango Friends of the Arts is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization dedicated to raise awareness, promote cultural diversity and offer support for the arts in our community.  We just celebrated our 27th anniversary and to date have distributed just over $540,000 of grant money to support our arts community.

Durango Friends of the Arts’ biggest fundraiser of the year is our fall event scheduled on Sept. 28th.  This year, rather than the traditional luncheon, we are hosting a ‘twilight affair’ at the Glacier Club’s new Valley Club House in their stunning “Prospector’s Hall” with fabulous views of the fall foliage right off the patio.”  We’re calling it “Prospecting for the Arts’ and the event from 4-7p.m. will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment with Gemma Cavanagh, Jill Holly, Jeff Solon and more plus a dynamite silent auction.

Tickets are $55 single/$100 for two and all proceeds benefit the Durango Friends of the Arts Grant Fund.  We need you…to help us bring in the Motherlode this year as we Prospect for the Arts!  Tickets will go on sale mid-July. Purchase tickets online at, key word:  Durango Friends of the Arts, or send check to Durango Friends of the Arts, P.O. Box 1281, Durango 81302. Seating choices can be made on Tix or if purchasing by mail contact:
